At last the band of boys and girlscame to the seashore, but they foundthe waves rolling up the beach just asusual. No dry pathway through thewater was to be seen. A few of themwaded into the sea, but they soon cameback again. Tired and hungry and sad, the poorchildren did not know what to do.Kind strangers took some of them intotheir houses to live with their ownchildren. But most of them roamed toand fro on the shore, thinking sadlyof Jerusalem and of their homes farawav. Then they were told of ships whichwere to sail across the sea.
